Background:

Medical records from Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has applied from manual record while electronic datasets arise nowadays.

Objective:

We would like to compare statistic differences on time recording during operation and at scene between manual record and using sport application on smartphone to record.

Method:

Prospective Cross-Sectional Study was used, in Ramathibodi ambulance unit to compare recording time from the original dispatch method with recording by Emergency resident who used the sport application on mobile phone to evaluate. Then, correlation between the two samples is measured by applying statistic of Bland and Altman limits of agreement.

Results:

The 101 enrolled case; between two group, Total time has Mean difference-2.18 minute(95%CI -25.84 - 21.48) and has acceptable mean difference40% (95%CI 30.23% - 49.77%).While Response time, Activation time and Scene time have mean difference-0.76 (95%CI -4.07 - 2.55), -0.92 (95%CI -3.94 - 2.10) and 0.36 (95%CI -4.08 - 4.08) minutein orderand has acceptable mean difference32% (95%CI 22.7% - 41.3%), 24% (95%CI 25.48% - 32.52%).And 34% (95%CI 24.55% - 43.45%)

Conclusion:

EMS’ time record by the original dispatch method and using sport application of smart phone has difference of recording time and minimal correlation of data.
